Where is Clear Skies Meadery located?
Clear Skies Meadery is located at 15201 Display Court in Rockville, MD. We’re just off of East Gude Dr, about 5 minutes north of Montgomery College.
Do you offer mead tastings?
We offer free samples and build-your-own tasting flights. Ask our knowledgeable meadtenders for their recommendations.
Can I host a private event at Clear Skies Meadery?
Clear Skies Meadery is available for private event rentals. It’s our pleasure to work with you to make your event special. We also host a variety of wine events in Maryland throughout the year. Please contact us through the events form on our website , and one of our staff will contact you shortly.
Do I need to book a tasting in advance?
We are always happy to guide our guests through their mead-tasting experience. During higher-volume times, however, we may not be able to provide as much dedicated attention. Please feel free to call our tasting room at 301-867-8965 before a visit.
Which mead is best for first-time visitors?
We recommend Friending Fenrir, our flagship traditional dry mead, for guests looking for a clear and unadulterated expression of honey. Our lower-alcohol session meads are great options for drinkers who may have more experience with beer or cider. For those looking for the best mead to buy online, exploring different styles can also be a great way to discover your preferences.
Do you offer food as well?
Clear Skies Meadery offers shareable cheese, charcuterie, and hummus platters in our tasting room, and you can bring anything of your choice. Please check the CSM event calendar for food trucks and pop-ups, and stay tuned for updates about our own expanding food program.
Do you have indoor and outdoor seating?
Clear Skies Meadery does not have outdoor seating, except for specific special events during which we’re able to use more of Display Court.
Are guests required to be 21+?
Clear Skies Meadery is an all-ages venue, though we occasionally host events which may be inappropriate for younger children because of content or volume. We offer a broad array of non-alcoholic beverages, including mocktails, smoothies, and made-to-order sodas.
Is your mead all sweet?
While much of the mead on the market is very sweet and full-bodied, Clear Skies offers a wide range of flavors and styles. Our traditional dry mead, for example, contains zero sugar content. If you’ve only had sweet meads in the past, come in today to see just how diverse the world of honey wine can be!
What is the difference between mead and wine?
Mead and wine are produced very similarly, though in mead the primary source of sugar for fermentation is honey, whereas in wine grapes or other fruit provide the sugar.
Can I order mead online from Clear Skies Meadery?
We can ship out-of-state through our web store , making it possible for customers outside Maryland to explore the best mead to buy online but not within the state or in certain other jurisdictions.
