Mead Flavors You Can’t Miss This Summer

Clear Skies Meadery’s tasting room features an impressive tap line with 22 meads, offering seasonal and year-round selections. Our meads are lightly carbonated and served draft style. To explore the diverse flavors, we recommend starting with a flight of four or five meads, which is equivalent to a glass and a half of wine. This flight can help you narrow down your preferences for seasonal choices.

One of our standout meads is Freinding Fenrir, a traditional dry flagship mead available year-round. It has earned top medals in several competitions and offers a crisp taste similar to dry prosecco, with light floral honey aromatics and hints of stonefruit and melon.

Our session mead, Mojave Rose, is a refreshing blend of prickly pear, pomegranate, and key lime, available year-round. Boysenberry and watermelon meads are popular summer favorites, typically available closer to Memorial Day weekend. These session meads have a lower alcohol by volume (ABV) of 7%, featuring slightly tart, light, fruity, and refreshing profiles.

One of our top summer favorites is Meadarita, a slightly sweet mead infused with agave, lime juice, zest, and sea salt. It’s a ready-made margarita-style drink in a can with a low ABV of 13%, making it a crowd pleaser. It pairs wonderfully with barbecued meats or enjoyed with fish tacos, chips, and salsa.

Violets Outburst is a semi-sweet mead made with blueberry puree and key lime, perfect as a refreshing summer beverage to be enjoyed with a charcuterie and cheese board, poultry, or fish.

Passion Fruit, a gold medal-winning mead, combines the tart flavors of passion fruit with orange blossom honey and passion fruit puree. This lightly sweet and tart mead features aromas of passionfruit and citrusy grapefruit notes, making it our best-selling still mead. It’s incredible when paired with fresh seafood dishes.
